Where did this week go? And do I keep saying that every week, or do I just feel like I do? xD time has been flying somewhere, and I’m not sure where it goes. I’ve been having some of the busiest weeks lately – taking care of mom’s shop and trying to fulfil all of my blog commitments. Speaking of which! I have created another Instagram for our family’s Etsy shop! Would you mind giving it a follow? Please check out the shop too! This is one of my favorite pictures here:
~ We Need To Talk About Some Books I’m Reading ~
I have started two amazing books this week, and the strange thing? I didn’t expect them to be connected! I can absolutely recommend them both – No Fourth River being a nonfiction memoir of a real life, dealing with some serious domestic abuse growing up, as well as later in life, and then, Cait’s A Thousand Perfect Notes, which actually turned out to be VERY connected to the domestic abuse topic! I love it when books you’re reading at the same time tie together like that, so unexpectedly – does it happen to you? Either way, i can whole-heartedly recommend both of these books already, even thought I haven’t finished them yet!
~ Last Week On The Blog ~
Last week was pretty exciting on the blog, at least in my opinion – I had a review of probably my favorite MG this year so far, Clara Voyant, also a review of a collection of Mexican/South American myths, and lastly – the first post in the series of #NewBloggersWelcome! Why is this new series exciting? Because every month I will be trying to introduce new book bloggers into the community. If you know anyone who has only been blogging one or two months, get them in contact with me and I’ll get them featured 🙂

~ Coming Up Next Week~
Next week I will be posting an exciting double review for Vicious by V.E. Schwab + Real Life Super Heroes (nonfiction!) by Nadia Fezzani. I thought that those topics really stick well together, and it’s a good chance to inform you all about a lesser-known book about a very interesting topic. And, I will also be posting a collab with Erica Robyn @ Erica Robyn Reads, for #NewBloggers 101 – about Litsy! It’s a great bookish social network, so if you’re not familiar with it yet, you can read all about it next week.

~ Little Book Haul ~
This is actually both for last week and this week! Last week I hauled Sleep, Merel, Sleep – I seem to be into MGs lately! And I will be participating in a blog tour for The Caseroom at the end of August. A book for a week – still a haul that I approve of 🙂
~ In The Bookish Community ~
Marija @ Inside My Library Mind shares a useful guide to Edelweiss, which is a great resource! (If you need further reading – I had a post about how to tweak your Edelweiss profile a while back as well!)
Cam @ Camillea Reads shares her not-so-good childhood reading habits, this post really cracked me up!
Clo @ Book Dragons talks in depth about new releases vs backlist books, and the things we don’t really talk about when it comes to our reading choices
Dani @ Perspective of a Writer talks about the strategies she uses to manage commenting back
Danielle @ Books, Vertigo & Tea shares her 10 things she deems as mistakes in her blogging history, which I could relate to a lot!
Krysta @ Pages Unbound shares why she won’t buy books on Amazon – something that has been a relevant conversation around the blogs these weeks
Michelle @ Chell’s Book Ramblings talks about the pressure of book blogging, #relevant!
So how has your week been? And what are you reading? What did you haul?
As usual, I’m linking up with the Sunday post meme at Kimba’s book blog and Stacking The Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews.
I’m Evelina and I try to blog about books that matter, with a bit of fun there too! Disability and equality will be topics you see a lot, but there’s also a lot of scifi, fantasy and… GIFs. I’m also the proud founder of #ARCsAnonymous.
The weeks do seem to be flying by. That’s awesome you’ve found two amazing books and that they’re so relevant to each other! I’m not sure that’s really happened to me, but I can see it would totally enhance the reading experience! Have a great week 🙂
That happens to me ALL the time, OMG 😀 like seriously. With books, movies, even events on the street… Sometimes it can get a bit uncanny, haha 😀
Seems like tou are having an amazing week. I am so sad that I was not approved for Thousand Perfect But I am glad tou are enjoying it, considering you are not that much into YA
And yeah, not just this week but the whole year seems to be flying by so fast. I really need the time to stop so that I can read more
All the best with that Etsy store
Indeed 🙂 thank you!
Your new feature sounds awesome. It’s really hard to start out new with a blog but the motivation helps a great deal.
Following your new IG account 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful week and your NewBlogger feature will be successful!
Thank you! 🙂 and thanks for following the IG 🙂
I’ve never even heard of Litsy. Looking forward to that post. 🙂
Litsy is fun! But it’s on the phone only 🙂
I know what you mean about the time! Where is it going? Time thieves – that’s what! I’m glad you go two books that fed your interest in a subject in two different ways… I find it really helpful when that happens. I hope you have a great week, Evelina:)
Where is it going indeed 🙂 thank you!
Awww mannn…I’m so jealous of you right now! I still haven’t gotten my copy of A Thousand Perfect Notes and I’m waiting like CRAZY for that book to come in! I’m going over to your instagram account and give it a *nice* little click…CLICK!!! 😀
I just finished it, actually, and it was amazing. Well, it’s being released soon, and you TOTALLY need to read it 🙂
Oh, and thank you! Saw your follow there 🙂
That bread looks amazing and the linens are beautiful. Enjoy your week and thanks for sharing interesting links.
Thank you!
I do agree that this year seems to be moving very quickly. I sometimes just want things to slow down. It is always interesting when you find a connection in the books that you are reading. I hope you have a great week!
Yeah, I often think of a ‘slower’ life lately. Maybe when I’m older 🙂
Thank you!
I will definitely be checking out your instagram stuff! You seem like such an artsy, creative person, and I want to eat that bread.
Thank you! The bread photoshoot was fun 😀
Glad your reading week was good and you found some awesome books!
OMG those look so yummy! I will be sure to check out the page.
Have a great week, Evelina! Happy Reading!
Thank you 🙂
No Fourth River looks like a book I should read. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog. Enjoy your week!
It really is a very strong book, I can only recommend it 🙂
Thank you!
Hi Evelina question for you: did you change something on your blog? Firefox is telling me that “the connexion is not secure”??? Maybe it is my explorer….
Yup sorry that was during the awful weekend when we were trying to install https and failed T_T
Oh my gosh, I seriously can’t believe May is almost over. MAY. I was just doing last-minute Christmas shopping for goodness’ sake! That bread looks absolutely delicious 🙂 I’ve got a pizza dough rising in the kitchen right now so I can try making homemade pan pizza for dinner tonight. Also I’m super excited for both of your posts this week, like, serious heart eyes. I really want to read a Schwab book soon but no one posts reviews? I guess I’m the only one who hasn’t read her yet And Erica has so many good things to say about… Read more »
I know right! We just started May! D:
Hahah, Christmas shopping xD I can at least say I’ve already forgotten that 😀
Haha, thank you! No one posts reviews xD yes, and you’re not the only one, up till Vicious, I was also a weirdo who hadn’t read it 😀 but I think you’d like Vicious! I can’t say about the other books though, haven’t read them myself yet 🙂
Thank you! I totally failed with the https, but I am hoping maybe I can fix it in the future…
I hate to say it, now that I’m older I can’t believe how time flies. I just added A Thousand Perfect Notes to my purchase list, I think I would like it. I do enjoy reading the links you post in Bookish Community, always some great read there.
Have a great week.
I know, me too. The older you get, the faster it flies. I think it has to do with percentages – like how when you were a kid, a year was a fifth of your life, and now? It’s like a 30th or something. So it flies by much faster in comparison.
And yes, definitely do get A Thousand Perfect Notes 🙂 I absolutely loved it!
Thank you!
I’m glad you liked Cait’s book because I preordered it. I liked your new bloggers feature. It’s good to know that the community is still expanding. There can never be too many bookworms. Have a good week!
It’s DEFINITELY worth your preorder, trust me 🙂 it’s SUCH a good book! I’m sure you’ll love it.
And thank you 🙂
I love it when the books I am reading have a connection I wasn’t expecting. It happens now and then to me, but not often. I keep forgetting about Litsy. I am a member, I seem to forget it’s there more often than not. It’s great that you and Erica are doing a feature on it. Maybe it will get me excited about the app again. I hope you have a great week!
This happens a lot to me with books, films and just general life events! I don’t know why xD
And yeah, I know what you mean – I sort of feel I could also be more active on Litsy. I browse very rarely, I upload more… But you can’t have all the tiem in the world.
Thank you 🙂
Ah thank you for including two of my links! You’re a star, the memoir looks interesting from the snippets I’ve seen off of your insta stories and Cait’s book I can’t want to buy when it comes out! Hope you have a good week girl x
Thank you 🙂 you should definitely grab Cait’s book! It was SO good.
Cait’s book destroyed my feels for sure. XD I expected it but still, wow. She really floored me with her debut and I’m so proud of her! <3
I know, mine too! But in SUCH a good way. It was very interesting and I have to say even relatable, despite the intense situations the characters face that might actually not happen to your average joe (thank god..)
And now I can’t wait for her next book 🙂
Time is flying by! It seems like each new week starts and then it’s over. LOL Only one book hauled each week. That’s amazing. I’ve been on a bit of a buying binge. So many books I’ve been waiting for are now releasing. And I keep coming across new ones from suggestions like yours!
I know right, exactly 😀 and yes, I have finally reined my hauling, it seems? 🙂 I hope that sticks 😀
I love the image. The blue just pops and of course now I want bread!! I am curious about the books you are currently reading. Hope this is a good week for you.
Thank you, Kim 🙂 I loved the way the blue contrasts with everything as well 😀 it was fun taking those photos.
Oh yum! And, yes, gah the time is just flying! I can’t believe we’re already at the end of May almost!
I know right…
You’ve had such a busy week but you’re doing great, well done! Congratulations on the etsy shop!
Lucy // lucyturnspages.co.uk
Thank you 🙂 yeah, it’s been busy, but I guess I can look back at the results and be satisfied 🙂
I really enjoy your Sunday Posts, and especially the other blogs you feature that contain relevant posts to issues I am also having. They are especially helpful now that I am focusing on my blogger blog instead of my Facebook page. Thanks!!
Thank you, Sarah! I’m glad to hear that 🙂
It’s hard to keep up with a blog with a busy life. I find it overwhelming sometimes with working and having a family. Enjoy your books and happy reading Evelina! 🙂
I know, it can be incredibly overwhelming. But it’s also rewarding, or else we wouldn’t be doing it 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
While you’re busy, I feel like a lazy bean who doesn’t want to do anything at all, including blogging, haha.
Also I am eyeing the NewBloggers Welcome for Novel Newcomers. Because it’s very appropriate to shove new blogs at everyone from the past few months from your side and have me shove them at everyone from my side a year later. Double shoving, just in case everyone forgets about the poor new beans in the community who need lots of love. 😉
Haha, it’s alright to be a lazy bean sometimes too 😀
Double shoving ahaha 😀 yes, you are welcome to note it down 😀
Anna @ dolewhipandbooks.wordpress.com is a great new blogger Evelina!! She has a great love for Disney and makes excellent character picks in my new meme too. ❤️
I love your new blogger posts so I will be looking out for that!! And Clara Voyant looks adorable!!
Oh! Hahahah I’m so tired… I forgot to say thank you so much for featuring my post!! I really appreciate the love Evelina 😀
No worries Dani 😀 I’m glad, and it’s my pleasure!
Thank you, Dani 🙂 and I think I am featuring Anna in the next episode of this feature 😀
The pictures you took for the Etsy shop are great! I wish I had your eye for photos. I know you took a class, but still. 😉 I think there’s a lot of raw talent there!
Wow, you had quite a fun and busy week. I’m glad you found some books which were connected and well loved. That said– domestic abuse is a rough topic! I hope that you have something fun to follow those books up with. Every now and then, we all need something happy. For sure. <3
Thank you! I still don’t think I have a good eye for photos though xD and I took literally 4 or 6 hours of a class xD wasn’t much of a class 😀 but I feel like it did help!
And yeah, currently I’m trying to read, err, funner books than topics like last month. Those really brought me down.
