Book hauls, Sunday post

Sunday post #33 Golden Son has finally arrived!

Good morning everyone! How was your week? It seems I’ve got the weekly amnesia again, which must mean… I must’ve been working a lot again πŸ˜€ however, I know that my week involved:

  • lots of good brownie
  • lots of great reading
  • my Golden Son arrival! Here’s the beauty:

~ Last Week On The Blog ~

SciFi Month is still full blast, and although last week I made an exception for the review ofΒ Sweet Bean Paste, a wonderful story of unlikely friendships, loneliness and illness, the rest of the posts were all SciFi Month material. You should read the review ofΒ The Diamond Age if you like detailed, society oriented and big picture scifi, aren’t afraid of long books and appreciate steampunk. And I don’t know if I need to explain much aboutΒ Gemina? You’ve probably heard enough about that one already.

~ Coming Up Next Week~

Coming up next is the last full week ofΒ SciFi Month! And while I had a blast, I’m also looking forward to posting about other things again. Yay for variety! Next week though,Β I’m finally posting a review of one of my latest favorites that I’ll surely be rereading – An Unkindness Of Ghosts. And I’ll also be postingΒ a discussion / list type post about the books you should read if you want space-realistic scifi, and also why I think they are realistic about the environment or experience of space, compared to other scifi.

~ Little Book Haul ~

I’ve totally let myself go last week… I’m sad to say that last month’s progress is a thing of the past! But then again, hey. Maybe I’m just making a safe cushion of books for myself, cozy in the knowledge that I will not run out. Eh? And just look at what an amazing color scheme they make. I would also like to mention thatΒ Behold The Dreamers might still be on sale on Amazon, and that I’m quite excited aboutΒ Clara Voyant, which seems like a super cute middle grade book.

~ In The Bookish Community ~

Hannah @Β So Obsessed With gives advice on how to find time for reading – her post is primarily about reading with a baby in the house, but I feel like it works for other kinds of being super busy as well!

Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight talks about blogging seasons and their tendencies. You’ll find yourself smiling and nodding your head to her findings!

And that’s all for this week! I hope to catch up with all of you this week cause I’ve been sort of away from the blogs last week.

As usual, I’m linking up with theΒ Sunday post meme at Kimba’s book blogΒ and Stacking The Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews.

One can never have too many books, it would be a terrible thing to run out, so you’ve definitely done yourself a favour by adding a few more to your shelves πŸ˜‰

I am jealous you had lots of brownie. They’re my favorite. Clara Voyant looks adorable. Doesn’t the cover remind you of the movie poster for Almost Famous, where Kate Hudson is wearing the same sunglasses. hmmm.

Nikki @ The Bibliophibian

Looks like a good haul here, and isn’t getting a long-awaited book just the best feeling?

Nice haul! I hope you’ll enjoy all the books you got! I still need to read Golden Son! Hope to do so soon! Have a great week and happy reading!

Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy

I’ve only posted one sci fi book review this month so far But I hope to squeeze in a couple more, well see how that goes! Maybe I’ll read An Unkindness of Ghosts!

I love getting new print books. Even though my e-books delight me, there is something very special about holding a lovely book. Enjoy yours!

I also believe in “making a safe cushion” of books so I will always have something to read.

I love the look of your book haul and also want to know more about Sweet Bean Paste. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

Sim @ Flipping Through the Pages

Ahh Brownie!! You are making me hungry πŸ˜€ The cover of Golden Son is really pretty. I have heard great things about Red Rising series. I hope you enjoy this books too πŸ™‚

And your sci-fic month was awesome. There were so many great posts (although I didn’t get enough time to read each one of them πŸ™ ).
I hope you have a great week πŸ™‚

Nice book haul. I also like to give myself a book cushion so I am never without πŸ™‚

Sweet Bean Paste looks like a good one.

Hope you have a great week.

Lots of brownies and lots of reading sounds like heaven. Clara Voyant does look adorable. I don’t read as many MG books as I should, so I’m always on the lookout for ones I would enjoy. Happy reading!

I feel thoroughly ashamed that as a science fiction author and HUGE fan, so far this month I haven’t read a SINGLE straight sci fi book! How did THAT happen?? I haven’t read The Diamond Age, either… *sigh* I hope this coming week is a good one, Evelina:)

Your new books look awesome. I hope you enjoy them all. I’m limiting my purchase of printed books (only old TOP favorites) for minimalist reasons. But I do love getting/buying actual books. Glad that you finally got one. I hope you enjoy it. ❀️
Have a wonderful week and happy reading, my friend.

Nice cover on Golden Son for sure. And yay for sciFi Month- I haven’t been participating like I thought I would, but I did spend last night catching up on some of the posts, and it’s been fun! Hard to believe it (and November) are almost over.

Have a great week Evelina!

I have a lot of unread books lying around and I agree that it’s nice to know you won’t run out of anything to read, that there’s another adventure you haven’t come across, waiting for you just a few feet away πŸ™‚

YAY, I’m glad your copy of Golden Son arrived! That’s exciting. I’ve read the first two books by Pierce Brown but not the rest. I loved Gemina! Obsidio could not come soon enough. πŸ˜€ I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Evelina. =)

My Golden Son looks fantastic! I love this series. I have the first book in an ARC paperback, the released paperback and the hardcover. I’d really like to keep up with the series and get them all in hardcover. Enjoy those awesome new reads:)

The cover for Golden Son looks amazing! I haven’t heard of the book, but guessing it would go well with brownies for a snack? πŸ™‚ Sometimes I find the snack selection to be just as important as the book πŸ™‚

Happy reading, Evelina!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

Nice to see that you got your hands on Golden Son!! That’s actually one of those rare YA series that I’d totally like to try some day. How much would you recommend it to me? Is there anything to be careful about that series? Wonderful week you had and hope the coming week will be just as great, Evelina! πŸ™‚

Katie @Just Another Girl and Her Books

I love the title for Clara Voyant. And slipping a little on the book obtaining isn’t a horrible thing (or so I keep telling myself every time I one-click another book).

Have a wonderful week.
