~ On The Blog ~
Nothing too crazy going on this week, just this post that got me over 200 likes! Never ever done that before. Fun!
~ Last Week On The Blog ~
I have posted three times last week, my favorite post of all time so far being the discussion Crave Book + Buy Book = Put It Away? I’ve also reviewed three photo books from Schiffer and Anne of Avonlea.
~ Coming Up Next Week ~
Next week I will be announcing my buddy read of Red Rising, also doing the Mid-year Freakout Book Tag and posting the review for Paul Auster’s 4 3 2 1.
~ Little Book Haul ~
The most exciting thing that happened to me this week was the approval for The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman! The story goes like this: I had requested it a while ago, and then got denied. I only noticed it last week, and got a little sour about it (cause I kind of really wanted it), and then, Friday evening an unexpected email arrives! From the publicist of Simon&Schuster, inviting me to read and download The Rules of Magic from NetGalley! I was soooo excited, totally made my evening. As I hadn’t actually read Practical Magic, only seen the quite famous movie with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, of course I had to get Practical Magic and read it before I read the prequel. Aside from that, I got other books, but I won’t go into detail about them – you can click the pictures for links to Goodreads.
~ In The Bookish Community ~
I came across this post yesterday while riffling through the blogs. It’s something that needs to be talked about more –why does Amazon penalize authors for a few typos, but not punish scammers?? As readers, we should always be aware of these things, and if Amazon does nothing to fix this, we should at least be careful about which books to buy and which authors we should really support. Read about it here:
Scammers Break The Kindle Store by David Gaughran
And that’s it for this week! What news have you got?
