Why Marta Thinks I Should Read Red Rising All the fun of doing a bossy buddy read!

During my blog hop last week I met a looooot of fun people. One of those people has been Marta @ The Somewhere Library. Marta has suggested we do a fun cross post project, so we’ve come up with an interviewed buddy read idea. Which means, we both tell each other what to read from our TBR and interview each other next week! Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Red Rising

So, Marta has picked Red Rising for me. This book has been on my TBR for a while now, so I jumped at the chance to finally read it, and I’m not regretting it yet! This is why Marta thinks I should read it:

Why do I think you should read Red Rising? There are many reasons, the first being that I think everyone should read this book as it is one of my all-time-favourites. Secondly, as I was scrolling in your TBR I found a couple of books I have read that I could recommend for you to read, but those were all classics and even when those are always nice to read, I found scifis and fantasies to be funnier as a reader. I thought you will enjoy this one better than the others. Red Rising is the first book in a trilogy that goes beyond many books I have read, there is a progression in every single aspect: world building, characters, language use by the characters, writing style… But just focusing on Red Rising, it is one of those books that has something for everyone: there is action, there is political intrigue, there is a certain dystopian aspect to it, scifi, superhumans… I think you will highly enjoy this book and I am very much looking forward to read all the answers to my questions related to this book next Monday.

So far, I am enjoying Marta’s recommendation very much! Meanwhile, I have recommended that she read American Gods, and if you want to know why – head on to Marta’s blog and see. We will both be posting review / interview posts next Monday!

Have you read Red Rising and would you recommend it to me as well? If so, why?
