[Meme] State of the ARC #9 I Am On My Phone So Formatting Will Be "FUN"!

Hi everyone! I am currenly on my phone and deep in my knees in VACATION, but I am still here to present you our monthly meme! Fret not and link up. How have you managed your ARC this month?

~ For Those Who Are New To The Meme ~

Anyone is free to participate! Link up anytime during this month and refer to this page as to the rules of what to put in your post and how to link up. The next State of the ARC post is going to be on May 30, so if you can’t make this one, mark it down and plan for the next one!

~ My Current State of the ARC ~

You have NO IDEA how long it took me to fix this up because Infogram apparently does not read support mobile -.- but I did it! And I wish I hadn’t cause despite my progress and non-hauling I still seem to have MORE ARCs xD either I did my calculations wrong, or they are multiplying by mitosis…

State of the ARC #9

~ Bricks Knocked Down ~

Since I’m on the phone… I will not bother with the bricks. Especially because it would be quite a bit of bricks, it seems! These are the ARCs I read. Which is like… A LOT?? I… am surprised too. I picked short ones for Dewey’s, so although I didn’t manage my plan for the readathon, it helped. But six of these I had completed before Dewey’s, so there’s that. The great thing is that I finished a lot of old ARCs!

Real Life Super Heroes Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries #2) Vicious (The Villains #1) The Breedling and the Trickster (The Element Odysseys)
Feathered Serpent, Dark Heart of Sky: Myths of Mexico The Redemption of Marvin Fuster Tess and Tattoos
Zeru The Million

~ Let’s Get Motivated! ~

You KNOW how motivated I am about these ones! I’ve already read the first one, but the second one is still waiting for me, and you could say, I am savoring it! I need just the right kind of mood to start reading that eye candy <3

That’s my ARC April! And how many did you knock off your stack this month? Link up your posts!

I’m Evelina and I try to blog about books that matter, with a bit of fun there too! Disability and equality will be topics you see a lot, but there’s also a lot of scifi, fantasy and… GIFs. I’m also the proud founder of #ARCsAnonymous.

  1. 2nd time participating! I love seeing the progress each month – or more like seeing how many more books I get each month…

But congrats on your reading and the book mail!!

The over 80 books scares me. I think that’s where I am going to…

    1. And please do participate ALWAYS!! Also, the 80 books is actually progress xD it used to be worse 😀 you know what really helped with the hauling? Journal entries where I can mark “didn’t haul any books today”. It really motivates you 🙂

  2. Congrats on all the progress Evelina! How did you like Vicious? I’ve got that and the Shades of Magic trio near the top of my TBR, but I’m procrastinating actually buying copies of them And I would tend to agree with your suspicions—I think ARCs do multiply by mitosis when our backs are turned!

    1. Thank you! Vicious was great 🙂 it was just so odd though? xD I had the hardest time writing the review and even really categorizing that book into a genre, cause it’s just so unique, it fits NOTHING 😀

    1. Thanks 🙂 I feel like I will compensate this month though 😀 because I am already SO busy with work that I absolutely can’t get anything else done 😀
Awww, thank you! I just had a lot of time off work, I guess xD and I also picked those short reads for Dewey’s. Tip for motivation: pick at least a few short reads. The number goes up and that does wonders for your motivation after that 🙂

  3. That is a useful and neat chart. You read some good looking books. Ivmat read Featured Serpent, Dark Hearted Sky soon. A few years ago I read Charles Mann’s 1491. It was a superb introduction to Native American civilizations and cultures.

  4. That is such great progress, especially on the older ARCs. April was good for me in terms of completing ARCs, May I am focusing on getting the last few read but also getting those reviews done. Enjoy your vacation 🙂

  5. I have no idea how you did this post from your phone! That would drive me bananas, lol. I thought this would be a fun feature to participate in, but it has also helped me really focus on what I need to read! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I knock something off the list.

I’ve decided to do mine on a month-to-month basis, so I can see what books needed to be reviewed by the end of the current month but were left unread. I’ll try to tackle those books over the next month without falling behind… ahhh. I can do this!

I’m happy you were able to finish a lot of older arcs! That’s my goal for this month. 🙂

    1. I know you only do this feature once a month, but I’ve seen a few people doing it twice a month to update everyone on their progress (in case you were wondering why I stated the obvious when I said I would do mine on a month-to-month basis, lol).

  6. Finally decided to join the meme, even though I don’t have confidence in my ability to get through many, haha. I’ll have to recount my ARCs at some point, I guess. I haven’t acquired many this month, but the number is definitely ticking upward faster than its going down. D:

Congrats on getting through so many ARCs this month lol

    1. I’m glad you did 🙂 it’s very good for motivation 🙂 and I was also thinking of doing a ‘global’ count next time I do this one – like, I will see how many I got through since I started the meme. Maybe 😀

  7. Eeesh. That’s a lot of ARCs. I have a few unsolicited ARCs that are past due but I read those when I get to them. The ones I request on NetGalley or via publisher I try to read either right away or around the release date. I have been pulling way back on requesting or accepting ARCs since I have so many personal books to catch up on. It looks like you were able to get quite a bit of reading in already though. Good luck tackling your review pile. 😉

    1. Well, they are unsolicited, so different rules apply 😀 it wouldn’t be so bad for me if not for all those ARCs I requested/downloaded before I knew how NetGalley even worked! I don’t do that anymore 😀 but all those old ones I still have to get through… lol. And thanks! Luck is something I definitely do need here 😀

    1. Thank you 🙂 yeah, I know what you mean, I definitely have those kinds of ARCs too – but what can we do, we’re only human. It was a mistake on my part requesting them all at once – but I didn’t know any better! The best we can do now is just to try to deal with it when we can, at our own pace 🙂 and definitely join up, please! It’s fun seeing that number go down, and it motivates you 🙂

  8. Wow that’s awesome that you’ve caught up on some ARCs! I have so many it’s not even funny, and the March releases just went up on NetGalley. *sigh* It’s a vicious cycle.

    1. I guess I did 😀 aw, too bad you didn’t have much to show this time – I hope you will join next time 🙂 my numbers are nearly always increased xD it’s not a reason not to join! You are always welcome in State of the ARC 😀 so hopefully you will join next month <3

And thank you! I am killing the pile, but somehow it's not diminishing that much xD hehehhe... I guess I hauled a lot in the past half a year, if I'm reading so much, and still it remains at similar levels that it was when I just counted at the start of 2017? I just don't get it xD
